When it’s time to bring home your newborn baby, you will need a car seat that has been properly installed in your vehicle. Virginia law requires that all children from birth through age seven must use a car seat, regardless of height and weight. If you need assistance installing a rear-facing car seat for your newborn, you can contact your neighborhood Fire Department.
If you cannot afford a car seat, contact the local Health Department for information on obtaining one.
